In recent months, a new pizzeria has opened up downtown. Slice House by Tony Gemignani is a delicious addition to the downtown Livermore food scene. Tony Gemignani is a 13-time world pizza champion. Tony’s Pizzaria originally came from North Beach in San Francisco, and chain locations – Slice House – have been spreading across California gradually. Offering three styles of handcrafted pizza, and many toppings, Slice House has diversified downtown Livermore’s flavor profile.
Slice House offers many different topping options. There are also daily special slices that consumers can enjoy. Customers can enjoy a massive slice of pizza for usually around $7, or order a whole large pizza for around $30. The restaurant also offers several salads and pastas, although the slices are the main attraction.
Slice House’s best slice is their simple pepperoni pizza. The tomato sauce, mozzarella, and thin-cut pepperoni compliment eachother extremely well. The crust is perfectly crispy – while also being soft and airy. This slice gets an astonishing 5/5 pomegranate seeds.
Aside from their New York style pizza, Slice House also has “Detroit style” and “Grandma style” pizzas. The best slice of the grandma style is the ‘sweet gino.’ This square slice of pizza is covered in sliced mozzarella cheese, sweet tomato sauce, and basil. The crust is perfectly soft and rich, and the tomato sauce and basil compliment each other quite well.
Slice House adds a delicious slice of life into the already vibrant downtown Livermore. Everyone should try this award winning pizzeria.
