The week long annual CinemaCon presentation was held on 13-16 April, 2026 at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. An event that is held to excite theater owners where studios compete for the most entertaining showcase of their upcoming films.
Sony
Sony Pictures kicked off the event with their presentation. Sony Pictures chairperson Tom Rothman took to the stage to introduce the presentation.
Comedian Nate Bargatze opened the presentation to showcase his first feature film he has starred in, “The Breadwinner” in theaters 29 May, 2026. After speaking about the film on stage, they presented footage to the audience. There are multiple trailers already online because of how close the release already is. It’s described as a feel-good family comedy that follows a dad who is in charge of his three daughters once his wife goes away on a business trip.
Next, Sony decided to come out the gate with a heavy hitter in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”. Tom Holland showed up as a hologram on stage to speak about the film. He spoke about the tonal shift in the film and how much more emotional it is than the previous trilogy. They revealed two new posters that were also released online. They then showed a clip of an extended sequence from the trailer. The clip saw Peter watching Ned, his best friend who lost all memory of him walk into a bodega and then walk out. Peter then follows Ned into a party at his apartment and introduces himself to Ned. There is a wall with Spider-Man pictures and Ned reveals he’s trying to figure out who is behind the mask. The film releases on 31 July, 2026.
Sony then presented the first trailer for “Insidious: Out The Further” that was also released online. The film releases on 21 August, 2026.
Horror auteur Zach Cregger took the stage to present his new film “Resident Evil”. He spoke about the film and then showed a first ever look at a trailer. In the footage, a man is trying to call someone distressed. A lot of zombie imagery flashes throughout with a standout being the man running through a city while hundreds of zombies fall off buildings. The film releases on 18 September, 2026.
Taika Waititi’s new film “Klara and the Sun” starring Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams was then presented. It is based on a 2021 novel of the same name. Footage was shown with attendees saying it looks promising. It releases on 23 October, 2026.
“The Nightingale” starring Dakota and Elle Fanning was presented and follows two sisters during World War II embarking on different dangerous journeys. It is also based on a book and will be released on 12 February, 2027.
“Godzilla: Minus One” director Takashi Yamazaki revealed his new film “Grand Gear”. A look at the pre-visuals was shown and described as two mechs fighting in a city. The film is being produced by J.J. Abrams and will be released on 21 February, 2028.
“The Legend of Zelda” was briefly touched upon. No footage was shown but they confirmed they have wrapped filming.
A “Bloodborne” film adaptation of the videogame by the same name was announced. It will be rated R and animated. Popular Youtuber Jacksepticeye is producing the film with no release date as of yet.
Justin Lin took the stage to talk about his live-action adaption of the popular “Helldivers” video game series. Jason Momoa is set to star in the film, releasing 10 November, 2027.
A new Sony Pictures Animation film was announced: “Buds”. It follows plants that speak to each other until some plants decide to speak to humans in order to try and help the environment. The film will be released in December of 2027.
“The Social Reckoning” was presented with a trailer for the film. It serves as a sequel to “The Social Network” but was described as a companion movie by Aaron Sorkin who is now directing this time around instead of only writing. The trailer shows Mikey Madison as whistleblower Frances Haugen and Jeremy Allen White as journalist Jeff Horwitz talking about a story exposing Facebook. A big talking point among attendees is Jeremey Strong as Mark Zuckerberg, saying he looks uncanny at moments. The film releases on 9 October, 2026.
Producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller took to the stage to present “Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse” along with directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson. The first four minutes of the film was shown. It picks up right where the last film ended with Miles being stuck in an alternate universe. He talks to his alternate universe self trying to explain the dire situation. It then cuts to a sizzle reel of different montages from the movie. Attendees described the animation as only improving, feeling like a sensory overload in the best way. They also confirmed the movie will be presented in a 1:43:1 aspect ratio. The highly anticipated conclusion will be released on 18 June, 2027.
Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black took to the stage to close the night with their presentation of “Jumanji: Open World”. This film will be closing out the modern trilogy of the Jumanji movies. They playfully bantered on stage for a minute and then showed footage. The video game is finally coming to the real world in the footage shown and finds the characters from the game meeting the characters in the real world. The film will be released on 25 December, 2026.
Warner Brothers
Patton Oswalt hosted Warner Brothers’ panel on Tuesday. Co-Chair and CEOs of Warner Bros. took to the stage to introduce their presentation. They recognized the amazing year they had last year in 2025 with them putting out up to 11 movies. They said they aim to release 18 films in 2028. They also announced a new sub-division studio “Clockwork” for lower budget pictures that can take more creative risks without the consequence of losing money. The first film to be released under this new studio is “Ti Amo” by academy award winning filmmaker Sean Baker. In theaters 2027.
A sizzle reel then began to play featuring the studios’ films last year. “Sinners”, “Weapons”, “Superman” and more were featured with a special spotlight on “One Battle After Another” for its best picture Oscar win. The reel transitioned into films from earlier this year like “Wuthering Heights” then to the studios’ upcoming films like “Digger”, “Supergirl”, “Dune: Part Three”, and more.
Videos were sent in from actors and crew members working on films coming out in 2027 and beyond. An animated christmas film, “Margie Claus” starring Melissa McCarthy was announced. Sam Raimi sent in a video announcing “Evil Dead Wrath”. Keanu Reeves sent in a video in the ocean, on set of Tim Miller’s new film “Shiver”. David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult sent in a video talking about the “Superman” sequel “Man of Tomorrow” where they teased a Superman and Lex team-up. The video ended with director James Gunn saying he can’t wait to share it.
Tom Cruise and Alejandro González Iñárritu took to the stage to speak about their film “Digger” they spoke about the film for a while then showed a trailer. Cruise is playing the lead Digger Rockwell, an ignorant CEO that needs to save the planet from a problem he caused. Attendees said the footage looked great. In theaters 2 October, 2026.
An exclusive trailer for “The End of Oak Street” was shown. The film stars Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor and follows a neighborhood that is mysteriously transported to a Jurassic setting with dinosaurs roaming everywhere. In theatres 14 August, 2026.
“Evil Dead Burn” debuted footage. Described as really brutal and some of the darkest material in the franchise. The film is a sequel to the 2023 reboot of the franchise, “Evil Dead Rise”. In theaters 24 July, 2026
Up next was “Mortal Kombat 2” which showcased a scene previously shown at New York Comic Con. The footage is described to be Johnny Cage (Karl Urban) entering his first fight and with a huge sense of overconfidence. Not much was displayed because the film is coming out very soon after the event. In theaters 8 May, 2026.
Attendees were each gifted boxes for “The Cat in the Hat” with blue wigs. A fun bit the event did. They then presented a trailer for the film which was described as looking like a fun time. In theaters 6 November, 2026.
DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran then took to the stage to Foxy Shazam’s “Oh Lord” which was the intro song to “Peacemaker” season two. He confirmed “Man of Tomorrow” begins filming the week after the event. The official logo for “Clayface” appeared on screen. Safran described it as “a riveting horror thriller” from director James Watkins. The first official trailer was presented to attendees and described as a complete 180 in tone from the previous DCU projects. In theaters 23 October, 2026.
Jason Momoa then took to the stage on Lobo’s Spacehog bike followed by Milly Alcock and director Craig Gillespie to showcase “Supergirl”. They spoke about the film for a bit before showing exclusive footage. Alcock is playing the titular role while Momoa is playing the infamous Lobo. In theaters 26 June, 2026.
Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman hit the stage to present “Practical Magic 2”. Kidman referenced her iconic AMC ad and said, “We come to this place for magic.” The quote is played as a double entendre because they are at an event for movie theaters talking about their movie about magic. Footage was shown to which attendees described as looking like a blast. In theaters 11 September, 2026.
Filmmaker J.J. Abrams arrived on stage to speak about his new film, “The Great Beyond”. He said how excited he is to be making an original story and working with Warner Bros. who are allowing original stories to be brought to scale. Footage was shown to eerie whimsical settings. The film will star Glen Powell, Jenna Ortega, and Samuel L. Jackson. In theaters 13 November, 2026.
To close off the Warner Brothers presentation, “Dune: Part Three” was presented. The screen flashed with footage while Fremen came on the stage. Two of them began to float while director Denis Villeneuve entered the stage. He spoke about the film for a bit until Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Jason Momoa took to the stage to talk about their characters. They then proceeded to show the first seven minutes of the film to attendees who described it as an all-out war film in the likes of “Saving Private Ryan”. In theaters 18 December, 2026.
Multiple titles that weren’t properly showcased flashed on screen with release dates. “Man of Tomorrow”, “The Batman Part II”, “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum”, “Gladys” (prequel to “Weapons”), “Hello Kitty”, and more were featured on the graphic.
Universal
The Universal Pictures presentation opened with Snoop Dogg coming on stage to his song “Drop It Like It’s Hot”. “Snoop” was announced which will be a biopic focused on the rapper’s journey. Snoop will be played by Jonathan Daviss. In theaters sometime in 2027.
Christopher Nolan took to the stage to a standing ovation with a sizzle reel of his previous films playing. He spoke about “The Odyssey” and why this was the next step in his career. He wanted to bring the story to modern cinema audiences in the most innovative way, shooting the whole film on IMAX. Five minutes of footage was shown with attendees describing it as massive in scope. In theaters 17 July, 2026.
“Minions & Monsters” debuted exclusive footage. The movie follows a few minions in the 1920’s trying to make their way into the film industry. In theaters 1 July, 2026
“Other Mommy” was announced, starring Jessica Chastain as two mothers, one an imposter terrorizing a family. A trailer was shown and described as looking very chilling and out of this world. In theaters 9 October, 2026.
A trailer for “Violent Night 2” was shown. The sequel is following up the bloody chaos in the first film, starring David Harbour as Santa. Mrs. Claus was revealed in the trailer played by Kristen Bell. In theaters 4 December, 2026.
“Meet The Parents” sequel, “Focker-in-Law” presented a trailer. The film follows Greg Focker’s (Ben Stiller) son Henry Focker (Skyler Gisondo) getting married to Olivia Jones (Ariana Grande). Antics will ensue as Greg and Olivia have a problem with each other. In theaters 25 November, 2026.
Robert Eggers’ “Werewulf” had a trailer presented. The film will be in a 4:3 aspect ratio, giving it a box look. There is one shot of the actual werewolf in the trailer. Attendees complimented the look and atmosphere of the film which is always a given for Eggers’ work. The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lily-Rose Depp, and Willem Dafoe. In theaters 25 December, 2026.
Steven Spielberg came on stage to a thunderous standing ovation that went on for some time. This was his first time appearing at Cinemacon. He spoke for a while about wanting longer theatrical windows and reminiscing about his favorite movies he’s released in theaters. He began to speak about his upcoming film, “Disclosure Day” which follows the uncovering of aliens in America. Colman Domingo who stars in the film came out and spoke with him about it. He revealed none of the third act is being revealed in the marketing and that the film is “more truth than fiction”. He also confirmed his next film after “Disclosure Day” will be a western. A trailer was shown giving more looks at some of the crazy extra terrestrial activities going on in the film. It stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, and Colman Domingo. In theaters 12 June, 2026.
Amazon MGM
To kick off the Amazon MGM panel, Michael B. Jordan was brought out as “academy award winner” following his recent win for best actor at the 2026 Oscars. Jordan said “That’ll never get old” and began to talk about his upcoming film “The Thomas Crown Affair”. This will be Jordan’s second directorial effort following his debut in “Creed III”. The film will be a reboot of the 1999 movie of the same name and it will star Jordan with Adria Arjona by his side. Footage of the film was shown and is being praised by attendees as some of the best footage they saw all week. Jordan described the film as being made for the big screen which is probably a product of his close relationship with frequent IMAX filmmaker Ryan Coogler. In theaters 5 March, 2027.
Ryan Gosling, Phil Lord, and Chris Miller took to the stage to celebrate their recent film “Project Hail Mary” crossing $525 million at the box office. Gosling gave a thank you note to the audience to pass around and read. They also confirmed the theatrical window will be extended. In theaters now.
The “Masters of the Universe” team hit the stage to speak about the film and show off footage. Attendees described the footage as very fun and colorful with efficient CGI. Not much of the film was displayed because of it coming out so soon. In theaters 5 June, 2026.
“The Beekeeper 2” starring Jason Statham showcased footage with attendees describing it as looking crazy. In theaters 27 January, 2026.
David Leitch and Pete Davidson came on stage to introduce Leitch’s new film “How to Rob a Bank”. It follows a group of friends played by Nicholas Hoult, Pete Davidson, and Anna Sawai who record “how-to” videos of them robbing banks and then giving the money to charity. Attendees described the footage as looking “awesome”. In theaters 4 September, 2026.
The cast of “Spaceballs: The New One” came on stage including Rick Moranis who is coming out of retirement for this film. They spoke about the film for a while and then showed footage. The footage is described to be very funny and not holding back for any franchise. They are parodying “Star Wars”, “Marvel”, “Avatar” and so much more. In theaters 23 April, 2027.
Henry Cavill sent in a video on his upcoming film “Highlander” where they then showed footage. Attendees were very pleased with the footage. It will be directed by Chad Stahelski. No official release date as of yet.
The cast of “I Play Rocky” were introduced to the stage. The film will follow Sylvester Stallone’s journey to get “Rocky” made as it is a crazy story. Anthony Ippolito will star as Stallone. It will be directed by Peter Farrelly who directed the best picture winner “Green Book”. Footage was shown and attendees described it as being “excellent” and emphasizing how close Ippolito resembled Stallone. In theaters 13 November, 2026.
Paramount
Paramount CEO David Ellison arrived on stage and spoke for a bit about things like the Warner Bros. and Paramount merger.
After that a video presentation played of new upcoming titles from the company. Included were: a new “Top Gun” sequel, a new “Transformers” movie, more “Ninja Turtles” movies, a GI Joe movie, a new “Star Trek” movie, and a sequel to “World War Z”. No information was given on the films, only their existence with mock-up title cards.
John Krasinski kicked off the presentation by speaking about the upcoming “A Quiet Place: Part III”. He spoke about the film for a minute and how excited he is for it, saying it’ll be even bigger than the last films. In theaters.
The official “Call of Duty” movie was briefly touched upon, basically acknowledging its existence. In theaters 30 June, 2028.
James Marsden introduced footage for “Sonic The Hedgehog 4” which showcased shots of Sonic (Ben Schwartz), Shadow (Keanu Reeves), and newcomer Amy Rose (Kristen Bell). The footage ended with Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey), confirming his return for the fourth film. In theaters 19 March, 2027.
Billie Eilish and James Cameron took to the stage to talk about Eilish’s new concert film “Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour Live In 3D”. Cameron directing is a huge deal and will set this film apart from other concert movies. He is said to be inventing new technology to immerse the audience into the concert as much as possible. He has done this with his films in the past, constantly trying to do something revolutionary in his art. In theaters now.
Marlon and Shawn Wayans took to the stage with Anna Faris to present “Scary Movie”, the sixth film in the series. Attendees described them as being very funny on stage. Footage was shown and also described as being very funny. In theaters 5 June, 2026.
Johnny Knoxville then took to the stage to present the final “Jackass” film. The film will be titled “Jackass: Best and Last” with a trailer being shown at the event. Attendees described the footage as being wild as always but surprisingly emotional with it being the last installment. In theaters 26 June, 2026.
Footage of “Angry Birds 3” was shown to attendees. The story follows Red Bird as a new father, trying to navigate it. In theaters 23 December, 2027.
The cast of the new “Street Fighter” film took to the stage to show a new trailer. The trailer was released online, available to watch now. In theaters 16 October, 2026.
“Mr. Irrelevant” had its trailer shown to attendees which was described as looking very emotional. The film stars David Corenswet as John Tuggle, the last pick in the 1983 NFL Draft, and his story dealing with that. Images were also released online. In theaters 25 December, 2026.
A new film “Heart of the Beast” was announced starring Brad Pitt. It follows a special forces soldier surviving in the Alaskan wilderness with his dog. In theaters sometime in 2026 with no specific date announced.
A new movie “K-Pop Superstars” was announced. It follows a young woman who aspires to become a K-Pop star. No release date as of now.
Ti West’s new film “Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol” was showcased with footage shown. Johnny Depp is set to star in the film and even showed up on stage at Cinemacon to much applause. In theaters 13 November, 2026.
Lastly, “Children of Blood and Bone” was announced. Based on the popular book, the film follows a woman living in a magical African kingdom who must reclaim the magic taken from her people. Footage was shown with an all-star cast: Idris Elba, Viola Davis, Damson Idris, and so many more. In theaters 15 January, 2027.
Disney
Disney began their presentation with a sizzle reel of their upcoming films. They then flexed their box office returns from the last few years, showing off all of their billion dollar movies.
“The Devil Wears Prada 2” team sent a video speaking on the film and the cult following of the first film. Not much was said or showcased because of the release date being so soon. In theaters now.
Jon Favreau took to the stage to speak about “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” revealing 49 minutes of it was shot for IMAX and debuting a new trailer that was released online. After he talked for a while, he ended the showcase with the first 15 minutes of the movie. In theaters 22 May, 2026.
“Toy Story 5” showcased footage that featured more story details on the antagonist of the film, Lily Pad. The footage is a whole scene from the film where Bonnie actually gets the Lily Pad, leading her to no longer want to play with her toys. In theaters 19 June, 2026.
Dwayne Johnson took to the stage to talk about the live action “Moana” remake. He started the presentation off with an emotional beat. He showed an old picture of his grandfather who the character of Maui is based on. Footage was shown of the film of Maui singing the iconic song “You’re Welcome”. In theaters 10 July, 2026.
Ridley Scott’ new film “The Dog Stars” was showcased. It stars Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, and Margaret Qualley. A trailer was shown that was also released online. The film follows a family making their way through life on an apocalyptic Earth. In theaters 28 August, 2026.
A new film “Whalefall” was announced that follows a man (Austin Abrams) getting swallowed whole by a whale and trying to make his way out. Attendees described the footage as some of the craziest of the week. In theaters 16 October, 2026.
A new Disney original film “Hexed” was announced that follows a young teenage girl, Billie (Hailee Steinfeld) that discovers she has witch powers with her mom, Alice (Rashida Jones) not being very supportive. In theaters 25 November, 2026.
The “Ice Age: Boiling Point” crew took to the stage to speak about the film. They showed footage that reveals the return of the beloved Scrat and his new son. In theaters 5 February, 2027.
Marvel hit the stage with an “Avengers Doomsday” clock countdown. They spoke about a new way to find premium formats near you called “Infinity Vision”. This will help locate the best and biggest screens. Then they showed the first ever official trailer of “Avengers Doomsday” that, according to attendees, got the biggest pop of the week. Everyone was cheering and clapping where they even started chanting “play it again” to which they did actually play it again. The footage showcased an unrecognizable Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom with a very comic accurate suit. It also showed many characters crossing over and so many shots of the X-Men. Thor was a main focus of the trailer as he is warning everyone else about the danger of Doom. The trailer ended with Thor saying they can only win the fight with a miracle and in walks Steve Rodgers with long hair and a beard. To prove it’s him, he picks up Thor’s hammer and they both hug. In theaters 18 December, 2026.
That wrapped up Cinemacon 2026, showcasing a plethora of movies to look forward to in the next few years.
