The Pomegranate is Granada’s student newspaper that has been running in many formats for multiple decades. The newspaper is called The Pomegranate because Granada means pomegranate in Spanish. The newspaper and journalism classes have been taught as an after school club and as an actual class over the years. The newspaper was distributed in print form until 2021, now being run as an online publication. The students who make up The Pomegranate staff are the ones who create all the content for the site.

Granada’s Pomegranate is a newspaper made by students for students with a dedication to spreading the truth. As the voice of Granada, we strive to report relevant, local and global news.
Mr. Marine (English teacher) and Mr. Avilla (Math teacher) discuss everything that is Granada High School. Each week the duo will interview either a staff person, alumnus, or current student that is part of the Granada family. Learn about all sorts of people that have stepped foot on Granada’s campus. Get your cape ready to ole with us every week as we dive into knowing more about the people who have made Granada what it is–past, present, and future.
Marine and Avilla have a great chat with Granada high school substitute teacher turned elementary and middle school special education teacher turned Livermore real estate agent Jacob Fahnhorst. We discussed Jake's deep roots in Livermore, his transition from educator to real estate agent, and his heart for serving others, which is what he does best.
