As the school year winds down now that second semester has begun, seniors are looking ahead to the experiences that mark the end of high school. From large events to lighthearted games, these final activities offer students a chance to celebrate and spend time together before graduation.
Starting at the beginning of second semester, many seniors participate in Senior Assassins, a non-school associated game where students are tasked to eliminate a team by spraying water on them off campus. The game continues till spring break, with each round disqualifying half of the participants. It has become a popular bonding experience that many seniors look forward to.
One of the most anticipated events is the senior Disneyland trip (tickets currently on sale). Students travel to Disneyland by bus and spend the day there before making their way back to Livermore. It provides the rare opportunity to travel with friends before everyone begins to go their separate ways.
Another meaningful tradition is Safe and Sober night (tickets currently on sale). It provides seniors a fun and safe way to celebrate the night before graduation. The event allows students to enjoy activities, food, and entertainment all while prioritizing safety.
Senior Ball remains a highlight of senior year, offering students one of their final formal nights together. From getting ready together to shared memories on the dance floor, Senior Ball continues to be a staple favorite to the high school experience. Krish Kothari (12), is looking forward to it.
“I’m also excited for Senior Ball because it gives me an opportunity to dress nicely with my friends,” said Kothari.
Ultimately, graduation itself is what seniors both look forward to and dread.
“I am looking forward to graduation because I am excited to begin the next phase of my life,” said Kothari.
While it represents achievement and the excitement of new beginnings, it also marks the end of something that has been a constant for the last four years. It is a large change and the end of a significant chapter. As seniors prepare to stay goodbye, these traditions serve as a reminder of the memories they’ve made and what they’re leaving behind.
