On Wednesday , January 14, at 5 pm, Granada High School hosted its Annual Expo to showcase and inform incoming and current students, along with their families, about preparing for and planning for the next school year, as well as completing class registration. This school year’s expo has seen a huge crowd of students and families wanting to see what this school has in store.
The event provided an overview of all the academic programs, courses, electives, and graduation requirements information that is available at GHS. Information tables were set up by both teacher and student volunteers, covering a range of subjects in the school, including Career and Technical Education Programs, Visual and Performing Arts, Athletics, World Languages, the International Baccalaureate program, and more programs and courses aimed at pointing students toward success.
Incoming students also had the opportunity to explore and learn expectations for high school coursework, with direct communication with teachers covering classes such as English, Math, Social Studies, and Science. Families also received guidance on registration procedures, including what is needed to register as well as deadlines to submit class scheduling. Students were also exposed to what Student Life opportunities were available for them, with both Leadership and Yearbook, with students who are actively participating in these extracurricular activities providing information and advice .
This Expo served as an important step in easing the transition to high school by providing guidance and early access to opportunities, as well given school resources for registering for the upcoming year. Registration will continue in the coming weeks, with additional support available through the counseling office.
