This year’s costume contest at Granada High School took place on Friday, October 31, 2025, transforming the quad into a vibrant display of creativity and expression. The event, held as part of the school’s fall events, featured over 50 participants from all grade levels, which also included the involvement of faculty members, each showcasing unique costumes inspired by a wide range of themes.
Students arrived during lunch, at the start of 11:34 AM, to line up for the competition, with first, second, and third place spots for students and a separate section for teachers. Students on campus came to witness the event, standing on both sides of the red carpet, cheering for contestants who walked to showcase their costumes. The teachers were first showcased for the event, the P.E department started off the contest with the Smurf-themed group, followed by the History department dressing up as the “Price Is Right” show, next was the Visual Performing Arts department with Lady Gaga, with an entourage of paparazzi, then with the Math department dressing up as Costco sample workers, and lastly the English department dressed up as a showcase of what Principle Conover looked like over the years.
The highlight of the day came during the top three costumes, where winners from both students and teachers received recognition and praise for their costumes. This event really showed school spirit, with students openly expressing their interests and what they wanted to showcase on Halloween. The best costume from the teachers went to the Math department as Costco sample workers, for student costumes, third place went to the Leprechaun, second place went to Papa Smurf, and first place went to Tupac.
