This week’s artist the week is Amelia Socto Flabam. She is a junior here at GHS. She is an art student here at GHS. This interview was done in the 1st trimester of the 2023 -2024 school year.
What goals do you want to achieve through art?
¨ I want to improve my painting skills and learn how to make collages flow better.¨
How much time do you usually spend on an art project?
¨I usually take a week or more on a project I like to take as much time as possible and take my time.¨
What is your background in art?
¨I did art all throughout middle school and want to do art all throughout high school and possibly do it as a career.¨
What is a seminal experience that you have had?
¨Itś good for self-expression and lets a person be reflective .¨
What role does art have in our society?
¨Itś central for everyone to have in their life.¨
Should art just be a hobby?
¨No I think you can create a career out of it if it is something you want to do.¨
Art can help us understand our history, our culture, our lives, and the experiences of others in a manner that cannot be given through means.¨
