On October 18, 2025 residents all over the Tri-Valley rallied in their cities in public protests against Trump’s administration in the “No Kings” protests, which took place nationwide, including around 2,600 rallies spanning from the West to the East Coast across America.

The “No Kings” protest that took place in Livermore was organized and rallied at Portola Park, at the intersection where North Livermore Avenue and Portola Avenue meet. According to the local organizers of the protest, approximately 3,500 Livermore residents showed up. These protests were specifically announced the overreach of Trump’s administration and national concerns revolving around executive use of power and current immigration enforcement. The duration of the protest in Livermore remained peaceful and non-violent, with no signs of weapons, any hostile escalation, and use of costumes.

Locals found the protest to be very energetic and meaningful, with many cars passing by the intersection honking their horns in support and many waves from the crowds greeting the cars that came through.
The start of the “No Kings” protest started on June 14, 2025, which involved 2,000 rallies across the United States, coexisted with Trump’s 79th birthday and the 250th anniversary parade of the United States Army aiming to defend democracy, Civil liberties, and separation of powers due to Trump’s actions being associated with that of a monarchy due to how he executes his plans.
Remarks against these protests involved many Republican leaders labelling these protests as “hate America” rallies, accusing those involved in these gatherings being associated with extremist ideologies. Statements from Donald Trump also labeled the movements as “jokes” and being led by radical left groups.
Moving forward, organizers of these protests are aiming to have a longer campaign, with sustained change, local organizing, and policy change. With their recent momentum they hope to push local political engagement with communities, and plans have been announced for future nationwide rallies.
