Hsueh’s stamps made in class
Granada high school’s AP art class has been busy this past week hand-making stamps.
Student Steven Hsueh (12) said that the point of the project was to add simpler shapes into your portfolio, and to “connect a theme through the stamps.”
The stamp-making process involves carving out the negative space, leaving just the desired shape protruding from the stamp.
Hsueh started by making bowls and coffee mugs, practicing getting the shapes right. He then moved on to designing a cat stamp, saying it “was something fun to do, getting a simple shape but making it look nice.”

Hsueh commented that the project was fun to do, and suggested that fellow students try it for themselves.
