Stampede, a country-themed bar and grill, is the newest exciting addition to Livermore’s downtown area. Featuring food, drinks, line dancing, music, and much more, many Livermore residents are thrilled about the introduction of this new family-owned business. Taking over the building that was previously the home of Buffalo Wild Wings, Stampede’s Wild Western energy certainly brings a fresh feeling to Livermore’s beautiful downtown area.
Robin Hill, one of the owners of Stampede Bar and Grill, explained the goal of her newly opened restaurant.
“It brings people together. It’s a gathering thing, it’s a social thing. In a world where everybody is disconnected, on their phones, this is a place to bring everybody back together,” Hill said.
Stampede’s mission is to serve not only as a good bite to eat, but also as a gathering space for the community. Hill listed many events that occur on a weekly rotating basis, for example: line dancing lessons, live music, trivia, bingo, and karaoke. Hill also mentioned that one of her wishes for the future of Stampede’s event rotation is to have Sunday football and a cornhole league.
“We have brand new dancers, we have experienced dancers. They come because it’s fun for them, it’s a really good experience, and it’s even good exercise,” Hill said about the line dancing culture at Stampede Bar and Grill.
“The staff has been phenomenal. We knew it would be busy [in the opening weeks] because we knew that people would be waiting for us to open… It’s stayed busy ever since then. We [the owners of Stampede] are still trying to make sure that it’s a very respectful environment… not too rowdy,” Hill said.
Stampede’s grand opening was on August 16, and since then, lines forming down the block could be seen on most nights of the week. Hill explained that even her and her family have been on the floor attending to customers in an attempt to assist their hard-working staff.
“If they don’t know [that I’m the owner] and they’re being disrespectful, there is not a place for them here,” Hill said.
The large influx of customers is no match for Stampede’s hard-working team! Stampede is a proudly family-owned business. Hill explained that she has been in hospitality for as long as she could remember, since her grandfather’s business was passed down to her family. She illustrated how valuable it is to have her family on her side behind the scenes.
“There are seven of us, so there are seven different people giving us ideas. The kids are the main driving force of that because they’re younger,” Hill said.
Stampede has plans to contribute to Downtown Livermore’s familiar and communal energy. Hill explained that Stampede is connected with most of the organizations and groups centered around businesses, more specifically, restaurants, downtown.
When asked to describe her biggest dream for her new restaurant, Hill said that her ‘reach for the stars’ dream would be to open a second restaurant in her daughter’s college town in Mississippi. This further demonstrates Stampede’s mission: bringing a loving community together.
Livermore’s residents are feeling excited about the addition of this Western-themed gathering space. Whether it be with line dancing or trivia nights, Stampede is ready to bring the energy to downtown!
