After 10 years in the making, Costco is finally coming to Pleasanton. This month, November 27th, Wednesday at 7:30 AM Costco will open its doors to many eager customers, just right before Thanksgiving too.
The Pleasanton Costco will be located at 7200 Johnson Drive and will be the third Costco, joining both Livermore’s and Danville’s Costco in the Tri-Valley. This Costco will provide 160,000 square feet for services and storage, with an additional large gas station installed with 15 double pumps, the parking will give a total of 768 parking stalls for all customers and members.
This grand opening will provide relief for both people of Livermore and Pleasanton. For the people of Pleasanton the closest Costco available to them is Livermore, which is almost a seven mile drive, which is around a 16 minute drive there and back, and once they make it they’ll have to deal with lots of traffic and crowded parking, especially at the gas station at the most busiest of hours. With the new opening of the Costco in Pleasanton will hopefully create a much more convenient traveling distance, as well as create much more availability in parking and services with less crowds.
The Costco in Pleasanton will play another major role for the city, according to the Pleasanton City Finance Director they state that Costco will be a new source of sale tax revenue, this will allow Pleasanton to have an economic growth thanks to the amount of customers expected to come in and shop at the warehouse. This new location will allow for other small businesses to buy items in bulk for their businesses providing a more convenient place for supplies, giving said businesses to the advantage to grow their business.
Despite Costco in Pleasanton ran into delays with construction and planning, this grand opening will surely be beneficial for everyone in the Tri-Valley, especially right before Thanksgiving allowing for both Livermore and Pleasanton to experience less crowding and traffic of customers.
