Liam Payne, one of the stars of the extremely popular band One Direction, has died at the age of 31.
One Direction was a band from 2010-2016, rising to fame on the reality competition show “X-Factor.” In 2016 they chose to break up and pursue music individually. Despite the fact they’ve been apart for almost a decade, the songs are still incredibly loved and played often. Some of their best-known hits include “Night Changes”, “What Makes You Beautiful”, and “One Thing.” Since they separated, Payne has released songs such as “Strip That Down”, “Teardrop”, and “For You.” Payne himself, as well as the other boys in the band (Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson), have stated in multiple interviews that they were not opposed to the band getting back together, resulting in fans excitedly awaiting the day they would announce they were coming back.
On October 16th, it was confirmed that Liam Payne was found dead at a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Not many details have been released yet, but it has been announced that the singer reportedly fell off of a third-story balcony from his hotel room. The circumstances surrounding his death and how exactly he fell are still unclear. According to Deadline, the autopsy results aren’t complete, however, it’s claimed that Payne “apparently had a skull fracture, a very serious injury” and that “there was no possibility of resuscitation.”
Payne’s death has shocked the media, and already thousands of condolences have poured in for his friends and family. Payne leaves behind his seven-year-old son, Bear.
