Got Scoopz? is one of the newest ice cream places on the block. Located in the shopping center next to the outlets, it faces fierce competition from Häagen Dazs, Cinnabon, Läderach, and multiple other nearby dessert shops. The difference between these major dessert chains and Got Scoopz? is that it is an independent, family-owned business that puts quality first.
This is apparent not only by their perfect rating on Google and their 4.8-star rating on Yelp but also by the passion they put into their desserts. Owned by Preeti Dhillon and his wife, they serve ice cream, Italian ice, and frozen yogurt. The couple prides themselves on the fact that each item on their menu is made without artificial flavors, colors, or syrups, and all of their ingredients are made in-house. The immense care they have for their products and customers is one you will struggle to find anywhere else.
They offer a wide selection of flavors from normal French Vanilla to Oreo Coke Zero if you are feeling adventurous. I sampled most of them and was extremely surprised at just how good their ice cream was. Their Horchata flavor was great, rich, and tasted just like the drink! Their Vegan Oreo flavor kept the flavor of an Oreo and tasted pretty good. I almost got the Chocolate Crinkle Cookie, a scoop of chocolate ice cream and cookie which was rich and by far the best chocolate I’ve had, but I decided that I needed to get a scoop of their Cookie Monster flavor. I was told by the husband of the duo, Dhillon, that it was their most popular flavor and I immediately understood why: inside the scoop were chocolate, oreos, and home-baked chocolate chip cookies, which all tasted amazing.
On top of the exceptional ice cream, I met the owner Dhillon who was extremely nice and accommodating. He was very understanding when I asked for all sorts of samples and was happy to let me try whatever they had, giving me recommendations on his favorite flavors and the ones that were most popular with other customers. The only complaint I could muster about a place this good is that their interior design is a little lacking. It looks like a Menchies mixed with a hospital and is a bit sterile, but do not let that deter you. I do appreciate a place so clean it looks like you could eat from the floor.
You will be hard-pressed to find a dessert place of the same caliber as Got Scoopz? The welcoming atmosphere, fantastic ice cream, and great service make for a spot you absolutely must visit.
