For children, Halloween means counting how much candy you got, carving pumpkins, having those nostalgic parades at school, and most importantly, dressing up. These fun times at school become long-lasting and unforgettable memories for many children across the world. Some schools like Sunset Elementary, host carnivals for students. Carnivals include music, costumes, games, and having a fun time outside of school hours. Sunset Elementary has been around for a while and from their principal to their students, they are awesome. This carnival is a great opportunity to gain volunteer hours by helping out.
If you are interested in signing up to volunteer for this event then sign up at THIS link. If you have any questions you can look at the Sunset PTO website or you can contact Christine White, the Sunset PTO president, at [email protected].
In regards to volunteering, there’s a lot you can do. This event ranges from 10:45 am to 2:15 pm on Sunday the 29th of October. There are four different time slots that you can volunteer in. From 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., you can help out by setting up the carnival games and stations. A maximum of 10 slots are available if you’re interested in helping set up. When the carnival starts at 10:45 am you can help run the game stations that were set up by the previous volunteers. This station ends at 12:30 p.m. Spots are limited so sign up ASAP if you want to get some volunteer hours in or if you just want to help the school out. The next volunteer slot is from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Both of these stations have the same focus, running the carnival game stations. They have 30 slots available in both of these events as well. After the carnival is over at 2:15 p.m., the clean-up begins. This ranges from 2:00 p.m. all the way to 3:00 p.m. There are 10 slots available for this event. You can participate in helping out in more than one of these volunteer times if you wish. Once again, remember to sign up as soon as possible because these slots are limited.
Responsible middle schoolers and high school students are suggested to come and help out.
Gurneet Kaur (9) said, “I wanted to volunteer for the Sunset Carnival for multiple reasons. My friends first suggested it to me and they were doing it too. I thought it would be a good way to get volunteer hours and to try something new. I also think it might be fun to help set up all the stands they had to offer and to also help run some of the game stands.”
It would be greatly appreciated if you helped out at the carnival for these elementary students. It’s a win-win for everyone. You can volunteer hours, you can show your involvement to the school, and you can help out the school while giving the students a fun experience. As of right now, there are currently 21 spots left in total to enroll in volunteering. Sign up quickly so you can get a hold of the spots!
